The Farnes are one of the most popular sea diving destinations in the UK. The islands offer a variety
of diving for all levels. The highlight is diving with the very playful seals who inhabit many of the
shallow reefs.
The Farne Islands are situated between 1-4 miles off the Northumberland Coast and half and hours
boat trip from Seahouses. There are between 23 and 33 islands visible depending on the tide.
The islands offer a safe haven to thousands of sea birds including Puffins, Guillimots, Terns and many more.
The Islands also host the largest colony of Grey Seals in the North Sea.
£115* per person: What’s included:
2 nights bed and breakfast (twin rooms sharing),
Two days hardboat diving (proper boat with a lift - see video) 4 dives.
Make you way to the main house of FARNES DIVING SERVICES
ST EBBAS HOUSE, 13 THE HAVEN, BEADNELL, NORTHUMBERLAND NE6 75AW
They will direct you to the chalets. If you arrive very late and there is no one around we will be in the pub
(The Craster Arms) and have the rooms sorted for you.
All events
The B&B is booked for the Tuesday and Wednesday or Friday and Saturday
evening, so look to arrive sometime Tuesday or Friday evening and make
your way to the accommodation. We have reserved twin room chalets,
keys and room allocations will be available on arrival.
We have two trips running with the boats booked for:
Wed/Thurs 1st/2nd August and Sat/Sun 1st/2nd September 2012
Kit Hire
Kit hire is not included in the price, so you need to
take everything including cylinders and weights. The
boat does not come in between dives so you will
need at least two cylinders per person.
Air fills are available locally at the end of the day.
Typical Trip
Arrive sometime Tuesday or Friday evening, dinner / supper in the Craster
Arms pub, allocate accommodation (not necessarily in that order). Breakfast is
around 7:30am on Wednesday or Saturday morning in the main house, then
off to the harbour to load the boats for about 9:00am. First dive mid-morning,
surface interval, second dive sometime after mid-day arriving back in the
harbour early afternoon. We then set off to get the cylinders refilled locally.
The area around Beadnell and Sea Houses is simply beautiful and you will
have an opportunity to take in some of the sights and scenery. So don’t forget
the camera. We usually meet up in the pub again for dinner.
Thursday or Sunday is a repeat of Wednesday or Saturday and we are usually
heading back home by about 4pm at the latest.
Google Maps tells us that it is about a 4 hour run, and if you put in NE67 5AW
you will see The Haven and the Pub and it’s difficult to get lost from there. The
accommodation is roughly behind where the post office is shown.
Our seal trips are incredibly popular and get booked up extremely
quickly. Places are only reserved on full payment. To guarantee your
place book early as we are generally over subscribed.
*For credit card payments there is a £2.50 surcharge, PayPal £5.00 surcharge, no surcharge for cash or debit cards.
