If you have taken a PADI Scuba Diver Course at some time and want
to continue your diver education, the next step is to upgrade your
Scuba Diver qualification to the full PADI Open Water certification.
So, what are the benefits of upgrading?
Firstly, you will not be restricted to diving under the supervision of a
PADI Professional. The PADI Open Water Certification enables you
to plan your own dives with a buddy of similar qualifications.
Secondly it increases the recommended depth limit from 12 metres to
18 metres. Restrictions apply to Junior Open Water.
Thirdly, once qualified you will be able to continue your diver
education with speciality and advanced training.
So what’s involved?
You will complete the dive planning chapters 4 & 5 in your Open
Water Manual, and the final PADI Open Water exam.
You will also complete a refresher pool session of the skills learnt on
your Scuba Diver course, plus pool lessons 4 and 5 of the PADI
Open Water course and the 200 metre, any stroke, not timed swim.
Finally we take you for a day’s Open Water Diving to complete
dives 3 and 4 of your Open Water Course.
You can complete your Scuba Diver Upgrade in as little as one week.
