Scapa Flow July 2004 - Serious Diving

As a recreational sport, diving should be fun, perhaps challenging, certainly safe and an opportunity to meet new people.

This year we joined the lads from Dive Fun and had a truly fantastic time. Invited by manic Mark from Sports Diver, everything was brilliantly organised and meeting up with Rich, Matt and the lads was an experience in itself.

A short time ago we were very proud to be appointed the only Poseidon Dealer in Nottinghamshire. Keen to support our new supplier we not only put a substantial range of Poseidon goods from masks, watches, regulators to gauges, fins and snorkels into stock, we also put their Extreme Regulators on to all our technical equipment for our new TDI Technical Centre. This Scapa flow trip was to have been a showcase for our new TDI training giving the oportunity to promote the TDI Centre and the Poseidon range.

Unfortunately just a few days before we were to set off, Poseidon called us saying that they had received a complaint from another dealer local to our Chesterfield Dive Centre. The basis of the complaint seems to be that we quoted supplying a Poseidon Regulator from our Nottingham shop in to the Sheffield area thus undermining some local monopoly supply agreement between the "local Dive Shop" and Poseidon UK. Following this complaint we were advised that our account was to be withdrawn. Watch this space..... a lot more to follow.
