To operate a marine radio, it is a legal requirement to have a VHF licence. This is yours for life. Call the Coastguard for radio checks, weather information, chat to other Dive Boats (on important diving and boating related subjects - of course). VHF courses are run on a regular basis.
The course includes VHS SRC (GMDSS / radio) tuition, text and notes. Certification fees are paid directly to the RYA. This is a one day course held at the Divemaster Scuba Training Centre, Aspley, Nottingham. |
