This program is for students who do not have the time to complete the Open Water Diver program, and provides you with the training and experience required to dive in open water environments under the supervision of a dive professional. You will earn the SSI Scuba Diver certification, which can be upgraded to the SSI Open Water Diver certification with additional training. Personalised training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater.
Scuba Diver can also be taught as a Referral program, this means you complete the classroom and pool sessions here with us in the UK then we refer you out to SSI or PADI diver centre abroad so you can finish the program in warm tropical waters.

You will be sent an e-mail allowing access to the SSI online academics you can use a computer or any digital device to log in, update your profile and start the learning process. The multimedia academics with videos and multiple choice questions keep learning fun and ensure you are perfectly prepared for your water sessions.
The first of your three pool sessions will start with a briefing from one of our experienced instructors and then a run-down of how the equipment works and is fitted. Next, you and your instructor will select a mask, fins and configure your own high-quality total diving system. Learning to breathe with your face in the water and fin on the surface quickly turns into almost 2 hours of fun underwater learning new skills. We have a maximum ratio of 4:1 with instructors to ensure you have the best possible experience.
Pool session 2 starts with a review of all skills from the previous sessions, reinforcing SSI's "Comfort Through Repetition" mantra, followed by new skills, and free time to practice swimming and building confidence.
Your classroom academics will happen at the beginning of each session. Here we will clarify information, answer questions and show you how to apply your knowledge to real-world diving.
Open water dives are conducted over one day at Stoney Cove or another location that allows easy safe access to the water. You will show that you can perform all the skills you mastered in the pool in a real open water environment. We provide suitable exposure protection, be it a wet suit or dry suit, depending on the time of year to ensure your comfort and safety.
All sessions are followed by thorough debriefing and discussion about your performance helping you learn. On successful completion, you will be issued a certificate of completion and a digital recognition rating (via MySSI App).
Premium
Our Premium course option allows you to schedule your pool and Open Water sessions to meet your needs. You will define a schedule, be it a single week, alternate weeks, or anything in between, with one of our instructors. This course is designed to suit you
