During a minimum of 3 pool sessions, you will learn to take care of both yourself and your dive buddy! Perhaps the most challenging and rewarding of the specialty courses, the Stress and Rescue Specialty gives you the readiness to help in diving-related emergencies.
Academic sessions are scheduled at a time to suit you and cover topics such as cause and prevention in stress situations, detecting and handling emergencies while diving and how to recognise DCS & DCI.
1 or 2 days in Open Water will give you the chance to put your skill to the test in the real environment with full open water kit, following that your instructional team will recreate some action packed life like scenarios to ensure you are read to act when the time comes.
This is the one required specialty in order to reach the coveted Master Diver and Dive Guide certifications.
All sessions are followed with thorough debriefing and discussion about your performance helping you learn. On successful completion you will be issued with a certificate of completion and a digital recognition rating (via MySSI App).
You will need to have a current training (within two years) in First Aid and CPR to be certified for this program. It is strongly recommended to be trained in Oxygen Administration in addition. We offer the relevant React Right courses to facilitate this if required by the trainee.
