Continued education is paramount to long term success for you and the diving industry. SSI offers you a personalised and flexible way to continue your career. Simply make a list of the SSI Specialty Programs you would like to teach in the future and then enrolled in a Specialty Instructor Seminar with an Instructor Trainer.
Just like your diver certifications, your professional rating will automatically be upgraded eg 4 specialties including Stress & Rescue and 15 certifications equals Advanced Open Water Instructor.
These are the stepping stones to reaching recognition levels of Divemaster Instructor and Master Instructor and are necessary to meet the pre-requisites for enrolling on the next step of your career ladder.
- Minimum Age: 18
- Active Status Professional of a level to teach the specific Specialty
Remember to choose Specialties your professional level allows you to teach.
Divemasters and above - Ecology Specialty Programs - Marine Ecology, Fish ID, Coral ID, Sea Turtle Ecology, Shark Ecology and Manta & Ray Ecology.
Assistant Instructors and above - Altitude Diving, Boat Diving, Computer Diving, Equipment Techniques, Navigation, Perfect Buoyancy, Photo & Video, Science Of Diving, Waves, Tides & Currents
Open Water Instructors and above may qualify to teach any SSI Specialty program.
You will be sent an E-mail allowing access to the SSI online academics you can use a computer or any digital device to login, update your profile and start the learning process. The multimedia academics with videos and multiple choice questions keep learning fun and ensure you are perfectly prepared for your water sessions.
All times and venues for courses will be confirmed nearer the time. Most courses are held at Divemaster Scuba but alternative venues and Dive Centres are possible if demand is sufficient.
All sessions are followed thorough debriefing and discussion about your performance helping you learn. On successful completion you will be issued with a certificate of completion and a digital recognition rating (via MySSI App).
As with all Divemaster Scuba Programs
- Certification lasts for life, however you must maintain Active Status requirements
- As a Dive Professional you should have your own Total Diving System
- All Pool fees are included (if required) but entry to open water sites is not included
- All Air fills are included
