Our SSI SCR Instructor Training Courses certify instructors to teach on the Mares Horizon at all levels, our in house Instructor Trainers will mentor you through the process. Price is £325 per day (Days given are indications and are performance-based)

Candidate prerequisite
- Own and use a Total Diving System in the appropriate equipment configuration as outlined in the SSI General Training Standards.
- Complete the XR Instructor Assessment Form and provide proof of the required teaching and diving experience.
- Have a clean record and approval from the manufacturer and SSI.
Have logged at least:
- 50 total SCR dives on the specific unit
- 30 SCR Dives Deeper than 25m
- 50 hours of runtime on the specific unit
Have the following SSI certifications or an equivalent from a recognized training agency:

- Enriched Air Nitrox Instructor
- Deep Diving Instructor
- Diver Stress & Rescue Instructor

Logistics
Classroom academics session will be held at Divemaster Scuba.
Pool sessions are held at Divemaster Scuba or alternate venues may be discussed.
Open Water training days will be at a local inland diving site.
How it works
You will be sent an email to view the course materials on www.divessi.com to start your academic development. We will schedule 1 day to complete the first part of the academic development. the remaining days in Open Water will be the bulk of the program, with further academic development session to be scheduled. Thorough de-briefing and feedback will be given at the end of each day.
Course content will cover:
- A review of all XR Standards and all SSI Dive Center/Resort Standards.
- Complete the applicable final exams with a passing score of 90%.
- Complete the XR Water Fitness Evaluation.
- Complete an appropriate equipment assembly workshop.
- A dive planning session
- A confined water session that includes the presentation and the evaluation of all water skills required. All skills must be to demonstration standard.
- An in-water teaching presentation on a topic applicable to the program and training level.
- While acting as an instructor, plan and conduct at least two (2) dives from the SCR Diving program.
- Demonstrate the ability to rescue an unconscious diver by bringing the diver to the surface from a depth of between 5 and 10m

- Certification lasts for life
- All Learning Materials and certification are extra
- All Pool fees are included (if required) but entry to open water sites is not included
- All consumables are extra.
