Deep Diver - Many exciting dive sites are located in deeper water. Without proper training, this kind of diving puts you at risk. The SSI Deep Diving Specialty will give you the ability to safely and comfortably plan and conduct dives beyond 18 meters, and is a prerequisite for some advanced training.

Navigation -this program provides the skills and concepts required to safely and comfortably navigate underwater during a dive. You will learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, basic navigation patterns and how to leave and return to a designated point.

Search and RecoveryThis program provides the skills and concepts required to safely plan and conduct search and recovery dives. You will learn about search patterns, specialized dive plans, underwater communication, and how to recover small to medium-sized objects using specialized equipment like lift bags.

Night and Limited VisibilityThis program provides the skills and concepts required to safely and comfortably dive at night or in limited visibility conditions. Some of the ocean's most amazing creatures only come out at night, so your dive doesn't have to end when the sun goes down. You will learn how to enter and exit the water, use specialized equipment, and how to communicate and dive with a buddy at night or in limited visibility.

Boat DivingThe ocean is filled with dive sites, but many of them cannot be reached from shore. This program gives you the skills and knowledge required to safely dive from a boat, allowing you to get the most from your underwater opportunities.

DPVThis program provides you with skills and concepts required to safely plan and conduct dives using underwater scooters or diver propulsion vehicles (DPVs). You will learn the special precautions for using DPVs, how to maintain buddy contact and control your equipment, and how to safely enjoy the new experiences that a DPV dive provides.

Waves Tides and CurrentsWater motion can have a tremendous effect on your diving experience This program gives you the skills and knowledge required to conduct dives from shore, in currents, and in different types of waves.

Wreck DivingMany of the ocean's best dive sites have artificial reefs, or wrecks that have sunk through the ages. This program gives you the skills and knowledge required to safely scuba dive above and around these underwater treasures.

Enriched Air NitroxThe SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program will teach you how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Diving with enriched air can increase your no-decompression limits, increase your safety, and reduce the required length of your surface intervals when compared to air.

Dry Suit Diving - Keeping warm and comfortable is imperative in cold waters the water draws heat away 25 times faster. Learning how to correctly wear and dive a drysuit will allow you to make you dives longer and more enjoyable.

Perfect Buoyancy - Perfect Buoyancy is the holy grail for scuba divers, the ability to maintain a completely still position in the water column to take a photo, watch a creature or complete a safety stop is heard learning to move through such a dense medium with minimal effort decreases both your fatigue and air consumption.

Science of Diving - Want to understand all the Physics, Physiology, Dive planning and Environmental knowledge within diving? Or just want to improve your base. This this instructor level theory program is perfect for you.

Equipment Techniques - Maintaining your total diving system is one of the most important things a diver can learn, Equipment Techniques shows the care and maintenance techniques you need plus goes into detail about how each piece of kit actually works.

Photo & Video - Capturing those memories is human nature, however good underwater phots and videos take a little more knowledge and patience to get perfect. Let one of our instructors show you how. Learn things like white balance, use of lights and strobes, Aperture and Shutter settings, how to Fram shows, edit photos and videos and make the memories last much longer.

Sea Survival - with the right training, experience, equipment and conditions scuba diving in the UK can be phenomenal. Our marine environment rivals some of the best in the world, offering wrecks and wildlife for scuba divers around our coastlines to enjoy. This training provides you with the skill set to enjoy it safely and know what to do 'just in case.'

Some specialties have no dives so classroom sessions will be scheduled to suit your calendar and specialties with open water dives are conducted over one day at Stoney Cove or another location that allows easy safe access to the water. You will complete 2 or 3 dives under the guidance of our experienced instructors. We will teach you everything there is to know to dive safely and comfortably in your chosen subject area.

All Sessions are followed thorough debriefing and discussion about your performance helping you learn. On successful completion you will be issued with a certificate of completion and a digital recognition rating (Via MySSI App) for each specialty, once you have logged 12 dives you will also automatically receive the specialty recognition rating.
